      Daywise Sikkim Family Tour Itinerary (6 nights/ 7 days)

      Day 1 : Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station – Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours)

      Arrival: You will be received at Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station and transferred to Gangtok by our tour representative. After reaching the hotel, check in and refresh yourself with a welcome drink, proceed to your room and rest. 

      Leisure Time: This is your leisure day in Gangtok. You can explore MG Marg, a bustling street lined with cafes, restaurants, and stores. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Return to hotel for dinner and stay the night.

      Day 2 : Sightseeing in Gangtok

      Morning: Refresh yourself and relish a delicious breakfast and get ready to experience the sights and sounds of Gangtok. We will begin our sightseeing tour by visiting: 

      Ganesh Tok – A tranquil temple perched on a hilltop, dedicated to Lord Ganesh. It offers views of the surrounding hills and valleys and also has a cafe for visitors. 

      Tashi Viewpoint: A viewing platform with a telescope from where you can view sunrise, sunset or just the gorgeous views of Mt. Kanchenjunga with a pair of binoculars. 

      Bakthang Waterfalls: A small natural waterfall with zipline facility and a modest footover bridge. It’s surrounded by tea and snacks stalls 

      Do Drul Chorten: Sikkim’s largest stupa, built to protect people from the evil spirits that used to haunt the place. It is built in Tibetan architecture and features 108 prayer wheels.  

      Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: A research centre and museum where you will find rare Tibetan religious artefacts, including books, paintings, murals, and statues. 

      Directorate of Handicrafts: A government-run institution promoting Sikkim traditional arts and crafts such as carved folded tables, thangkas, bamboo crafts, etc.

      Flower Show: Watch blooming orchids, cacti, and succulents growing in this park.

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: After the local sightseeing tour, return to the hotel and stay overnight.

      Day 3 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

      Morning: Commence your day with a meal at the hotel and get ready for an expedition to see the beautiful Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake is around 42 kilometres and Baba Mandir is another 17 kms from Tsomgo Lake. 

      Tsomgo Lake: Feel the serenity, purity and peace that surrounds this holy lake, located at an elevation 3,780 metres. You can also do a yak or pony ride at extra charges. 

      Baba Mandir: A holy shrine made in remembrance of Indian Army soldier Harbhajan Singh. Devotees, both tourists and locals visit this temple to pray and pay homage to the departed soldier. 

      Optional Nathula Tour: You can also include a visit  to Nathula (pass) near the Indo-China border. (with additional costs). It requires a permit with a processing time of up to 72 hours. Kindly inform us at the time of booking. 

      Please note: 

      • Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 
      • If the visit to Nathula Pass gets cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no refund for the permit charges. 

      Overnight stay in Gantok: Get transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

      Day 4 : Gangtok to Lachen (120 km/6-7 hours)

      Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for a picturesque expedition from Gangtok to Lachen. Our tour representative will pick you up from the hotel’s lobby and drive towards Lachen. You will come across the following attractions. 

      Singhik View Point: A must-visit viewpoint to catch unobstructed scenery of Mt Kanchenjunga. From there, you can watch the confluence of Teesta and Kanan rivers and take as many photos as you want. 

      Seven Sisters Waterfalls & Naga Falls: Next, we will catch a break nearby Seven sister and Naga waterfalls, whose gurgling sounds can be heard, even from a distance. 

      Arrival in Lachen: After 6 to 7 hours of riding on winding roads of Sikkim, we will arrive in Lachen. Check in at the hotel and enjoy your cup of tea, go out for a walk to see the natural beauty of this place. 

      Overnight stay in Lachen: Have your evening meal at the hotel and stay the night.

      Day 5 : Gurudongmar Lake Visit & Lachung

      Morning: Have an early breakfast and depart for Gurudongmar Lake. A part of this gorgeous alpine lake never freezes in winter as it received the blessing from Guru Rinpoche. Surrounded by numerous prayer flags, this site is sacred for Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs. 

      Chungthang: Next, we will stop by a beautiful  town perched at the vantage point of Lachen and Lachung rivers, take photos and enjoy the views. 

      Arrive in Lachung & O/N Stay: Arrive in the breathing village of Lachung and check in at the property. You can stroll around and take in the scenery of this place. Then return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

      Day 6 : Lachung to Yumthang Valley (Zero Point Optional)

      Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Yumthang Valley, located 42 kms away from Lachung in a comfortable car. 

      Yumthang Valley: Sikkim’s Valley of Flower, aka Yumthang Valley is a postcard perfect destination to delight oneself in nature. The lush greenery, floral blooms, grazing yaks, rolling hills and Lachung river adds to its beauty. 

      Optional Tour – Zero Point (Yumesamdong): Next, you can include a trip to Zero Point, the last civilian outpost near the international borders. Permit and suitable weather conditions are essential to visit Zero Point. 

      Overnight stay in Lachung: Return to the hotel in Lachung, have dinner and stay for the night.

      Day 7 : Lachung to Gangtok to Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP Station

      Morning: Wake up, freshen up and relish a warm meal at the hotel. Check out from the property and depart for Gangtok with our tour representative. 

      Towards Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP Station): After dropping you off at Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP Station, our tour coordinator will part ways. Catch your flight/train and return to the hotel.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

      With the Sikkim family tour package, we provide roundtrip transfers from the airport/train station to the hotel. It also includes transfers from Gangtok to Lachen – Lachung – Gangtok. All transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

      Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR or similar

      Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Single foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
