      Darjeeling Tourism

      “Queen of The Himalayas”

Darjeeling, which served as India’s summer capital during the British Raj, is now one of the most popular hill resorts in the country. This picturesque hill town in West Bengal is the ideal destination for a blissful honeymoon. Located at a height of 2,050 metres above sea level and surrounded by miles of tea plantations, Darjeeling has a pleasant temperature all year long.

UNESCO has granted the toy train, which was first built in 1881, World Heritage Status. The train starts off in the plains and climbs to a height of more than 2000 metres above sea level, providing beautiful views of the mountains as it moves along.

      Darjeeling Tea

The renowned “Darjeeling Tea” is made in Darjeeling at more than 86 different tea plantations. Take your pick between enjoying a cup of locally made chai at the tea estate or venturing out into the plantations to select a few tea leaves yourself.

From here, you can see the Kanchenjunga peak, which is the highest mountain in India and the third highest point in the entire world. Monasteries, botanical gardens, a zoo, and the longest cable car in Asia, the Darjeeling-Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway, are a few of Darjeeling’s most well-liked attractions. The sunrise over the mountains may be seen in all its blazing splendour from Tiger Hill.
