Northeast India contain the state of Sikkim. There are a total of 6 districts in Sikkim as of 2021. Sikkim had 4 districts prior to the addition of 2 new districts on December 21, 2021.
Sikkim had four districts prior to the creation of two additional ones on December 21, 2021, bringing the total to six districts. Soreng and Pakyong are two of Sikkim’s newest districts. Pakyong belonged to East Sikkim district, whilst Soreng belonged to West Sikkim district. Existing Districts have also been renamed in Sikkim. The district of North Sikkim is now known as Mangan, while the districts of West Sikkim and East Sikkim will now go by the names Gyalshing, Gangtok, and Namchi, respectively.
