Usually, Silk Route packages range from 4 to 7 days, covering scenic drives, sunrise points like Thambi and Lungthung, monasteries, and local village walks. Best visited between April–June and October–December, the region changes its sheer colour like the colours of a painter’s palette with the changing seasons. The pretty blush of the rhododendron blooms give way to frosted white snow-covered passes.
Arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport. Drive through Kalimpong hills and scenic valleys to reach Rishikhola, a tranquil riverside village. Check in at your riverside homestay and relax. Enjoy a peaceful evening beside the Reshi River with a bonfire and local dinner. Rishikola will invariably prove to be a complete experience of peace and simplicity. It will mark the gentle beginning of your Silk Route journey. Listen to where the soft murmuring of the river, the melody of morning birds, and feel the cool mountain breeze as they create a perfect symphony of calm and restfulness. After breakfast, drive towards Zuluk via Aritar. Visit Lampokhari Lake (Aritar Lake) and Aritar Monastery (Ari Gompa). The Aritar village will feel timeless with glimpses of simple, serene, and unhurried life and with orchids blooming along the paths and prayer flags fluttering gently in the breeze. Lampokhari will continue to bewilder you with its rustic beauty – surrounded by lush hills offering glimpses of local Sikkimese life with small markets, bridges, and traditional wooden houses. A peep into the belly of nature and its connections will leave you rooted to nature with an even more fierce longing. Continue the scenic ascent through Lingtam and Padamchen villages, famous for their serene beauty. Lingtam will greet you gracefully with its lush green landscapes and bamboo forests. Padamchen will in turn give you a dreamy, fairy-tale feel where you can only think of nature walks, photography, and sunrise views. Arrive at Zuluk, an old Silk Route transit village with stunning mountain vistas. Evening free for leisure and photography. Overnight stay at Zuluk.

Early morning visit to Thambi Viewpoint for sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. Continue through the famous Zuluk Zig-Zag Road (32 hairpin bends) to Lungthung and Gnathang Valley. Lungthung is a windswept high-altitude mountain village that offers unhindered views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the snow-crested Eastern Himalayas. Gnathang Valley in the Valley of Flowers of East Sikkim and never ceases to enthral its visitors with its ethereal beauty. Gnathang Valley, once home to Tibetan traders, lies nestled between towering peaks at about 13,500 ft. The changing colours of the valley is mesmerising. In summer, it is shimmering and dazzling with alpine blooms, while in winter it is frosted white in the form of a serene snowfield. Enjoy the high-altitude meadows and army outposts along the route. Check in at a homestay in Gnathang Valley, or the “Valley of Flowers of East Sikkim.” Overnight stay at Gnathang Valley.

After breakfast, begin the drive toward Gangtok. En route, stop at Kupup, Menmecho Lake Viewpoint, and the New Baba Mandir. Cover Kupup Lake, fondly known as Elephant Lake due to its elephant-like shape, glistens like a bright jewel at an altitude of 13,000 ft. The crisp mountain air makes Kupup a perfect spot to stop and soak in the grandeur of the Silk Route. Next comes Old Baba Mandir with its sacred shrine, maintained by the Indian Army. It is a place of immense devotion and mystery and be a part of it to complete your Silk Route experience. Visit the sacred Tsomgo (Changu) Lake (12,400 ft) surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Arrive at Gangtok by evening and check in at the hotel. Stroll along MG Marg for shopping and local cuisine. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

After breakfast, explore the highlights of Gangtok such as Banjhakri Waterfalls, Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok. The stunning 100-foot cascading Banjhakri Falls, the serene viewpoint Hanuman Tok offering panoramic views of Kanchenjunga, Ganesh Tok overlooking Gangtok town and the snow peaks beyond and Tashi View Point overlooking the Kanchenjunga range will be a fulfilling Gangtok sightseeing trip for the day. You can go for optional sightseeing to visit Do Drul Chorten and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. Do Drul Chorten is one of Gangtok’s most iconic landmarks with its enshrined sacred relics and powerful mantras that radiate peace and positivity. While Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is worth visiting as it is one of Asia’s most prestigious centres for Buddhist studies. The museum houses rare manuscripts, thangkas (Buddhist scroll paintings), statues, and ritual objects that point towards the deep connection between Sikkim and Tibetan Buddhism. Later, transfer to NJP / Bagdogra for departure. Tour ends with unforgettable memories of the Silk Route.

From airport/train station pick up and drop to transfers between attractions (such as Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake to Baba Mandir), all transfers provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are:

Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar
