After breakfast, depart for a Gangtok sightseeing tour. Begin with the Bakthang Waterfalls, which are fairly large and beautiful. Relax and take some photos here. Then go to Tashi viewpoint for sweeping views of the magnificent Kanchenjunga, the world’s third highest mountain. It’s an excellent spot for sunrise photography. The next stop is Ganesh Tok, a Hindu temple with spectacular hilltop views. Next, visit the Enchey Monastery, where the guardian deities Khangchendzonga and Yabdean are said to live. Prepare for some excitement at the Ropeway, a 1-kilometer cable car trip.

Drive to Namchi after breakfast, a fantastic place whose literal meaning is ‘peak of the sky.’ When you arrive, you will be met with breathtaking views of the valley and mountains. Namchi Char Dham is a pilgrimage site where you can see a 108-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva and replicas of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The 118-foot world’s largest statue of the Buddhist Padmasambhava, Sikkim’s venerated saint, is located nearby on Samdruptse Hill. Return to Gangtok after the excursion. The rest of the evening is free. Stay at the hotel for the night.

Start your day early in the morning, around 8 a.m., by driving to Tsomgo Lake, a popular tourist destination in Sikkim. It’s a breathtaking high-altitude lake (elevation 3750 m) with abundance of natural beauty. It is a 3-hour trip from Gangtok, and the journey is enjoyable because of the beautiful scenery. The lake is especially beautiful in the winter when it is covered in snow and frozen. It comes to life again in the spring, when its environs are dotted with vibrant wildflowers. Both Hindus and Buddhists visit this sacred lake.

After enjoying the lake, visit Baba Harbhajan Mandir, which is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a valiant Indian soldier.
