A three-hour trip will take you to a valley at an elevation of 11,800 feet. Sikhs, Buddhists, and Hindus regard the lake here to be holy, and it is one of the world’s tallest lakes. It is located near the Tibet border and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks all year.
The Himalayan rain-shadow zone meets the Tibetan plateau at this point. The mountains are adorned with gorgeous tones of colours and reach an altitude of 20,000 to 25,000 feet.
Today’s destination is Yumthang Valley, which translates as “Valley of Flowers.” Check out of the hotel and drive to 11,800 feet above sea level to this valley after starting your day with a delicious breakfast.
