While the summer months of April to June are the best time to visit Darjeeling, some visitors, particularly couples, prefer to visit during the winter months of October to December. However, a monthly breakdown of Darjeeling’s meteorological conditions would be helpful in planning your visit:
The monsoon season ends in October, and the weather begins to cool slightly. The winter season officially begins in mid-November and lasts until January, when the average temperature is between 7 and 5 degrees Celsius. Darjeeling rarely receives snowfall. However, the temperature can dip to -2 degrees Celsius at times, so bring some warm clothing.
Darjeeling’s summer season, which is pleasant and not too hot, lasts from April to June. Around 25 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature. Bright sunlight combined with cool evening breezes makes for a wonderful visit to Darjeeling’s lovely surroundings. This is also an excellent time to go sightseeing and participate in other tourist activities.
Darjeeling experiences considerable rains from July through August. Visiting the area during the monsoons may not be the best idea because you may encounter some barriers. If you enjoy the rain, don’t miss the lush-green environment drenched in rainwater, which makes for excellent photographic opportunities. However, September is a fantastic time to visit because there is less rain and the flora is still present.
