    Daywise Sikkim Darjeeling family Itinerary

    Day 1 : NJP/Bagdogra to Gangtok | Leisure Day

    Arrival: Your Sikkim Darjeeling family tour begins with your arrival at NJP station/Bagdogra Airport. After the meet and greet, our tour representative will drive to Gangtok and escort you to your hotel. After checking in, enjoy a welcome drink and relax in your room. 

    Leisure Time: The rest of the day is free for leisure activities. You may explore MG Road, India’s first spit, litter and smoking-free zone. The boulevard is vibrant and bustling, ideal for taking in the vibe of Gangtok. Try local delicacies or relish a cup of warm coffee. 

    Overnight stay in Gangtok: Post MG Road exploration, return to the hotel and rest well.

    Day 2 : Gangtok Excursion (Local Sightseeing)

    Morning: On day 2 of Sikkim Darjeeling family tour, we will go for local sightseeing in Gangtok and visit all the remarkable places one must visit. The top Gangtok spots are: 

    • Ganesh Tok – A serene temple perched on a hilltop, adorned with prayer flags and has a cafe. 
    • Tashi Viewpoint – A viewing platform with a telescope, offering panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. 
    • Do Drul Chorten – Sikkim’s largest stupa with 108 prayer wheels and is surrounded by smaller stupas, built for Trulshik Rinpoche. 
    • Bakthang Falls: A small natural waterfall gushing down lush cliffs, forming a pool. It’s an ideal photo spot. 
    • Namgyal Institute of Tibetology – A learning and research centre for Tibetan studies. It houses a museum, a library, and religious artefacts.
    • Rumtek Monastery – A serene monastery on the outskirts of Gangtok, known for its religious significance. 
    • Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom – A government-run institution for promoting and conserving traditional arts and crafts of Sikkim. 

    Overnight stay in Gangtok: End your sightseeing tour with a visit to MG Marg, and return to the hotel to get a good night’s sleep.

    Day 3 : Gangtok to Darjeeling + Sightseeing

    Morning: Savour a delicious breakfast at the hotel and check out. Our tour representative will pick you up and transfer to Darjeeling. 

    Sightseeing: After checking in at the hotel, head out for a half-day local sightseeing tour in Darjeeling. You will explore the following attractions: 

    • Ghoom Monastery – A vibrant monastery belonging to belongs to the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat sect
    • Padmaja Naidu Zoological Garden – The largest high-altitude zoo in India, lies at an elevation of 7,000 feet. (closed on Thursday)
    • Japanese Temple – A Japanese-style Buddhist temple with multiple pagodas. 
    • Himalayan Mountaineering Institute – Famous for mountaineering training and related adventure activities.  (closed on Thursday)
    • Mall Road (Chowrasta) – The buzzing shopping and dining street of Darjeeling, lined with restaurants, cafes and shops. (closed on Thursday)

    Overnight stay in Darjeeling: After concluding the sightseeing tour at Mall Road, our representative will drop you at the hotel.

    Day 4 : Tiger Hill Visit, Darjeeling to NJP/Bagdogra

    Early Morning (04:00–06:00 am): Wake up early and depart for Tiger Hill to watch the sunrise as it falls on the snow-capped peaks. On clear days, you can even watch views of Mt. Everest. 

    Breakfast at Hotel: Return to the hotel to have breakfast, pack your luggage and check out. 

    NJP/Bagdogra Transfer: Our tour representative will drop you to NJP station /Bagdogra Airport. Your 4 day Sikkim family tour comes to an end

    What is the cost of the hotel stay? 

    The estimated cost of hotel accommodation per night is: 

    For standard option  – ₹2000  to ₹2500

    For deluxe option – ₹2500 to ₹5000

    Transfers in Sikkim & Darjeeling (Car Options) 

    We provide airport/train station pick up and drop as well as transfers between Gangtok – Darjeeling in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

    Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR  or similar

    Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

    Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options. 

    Documents for Permits in Sikkim  (ILP/PAP) 
    1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
    1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
    1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
    1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
    1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
    1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Single foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
