      Daywise Sikkim Tour Itinerary for Family

      Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station to Gangtok | Leisure Day

      Arrival: Enjoy the rolling hills and dreamy landscape with Sikkim tour packages for family with SikkimTourism.org. Our tour representative will pick you from Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station and transfer you to Gangtok’s hotel. After your check-in, enjoy a welcome drink and relax in your room. 

      Leisure Time: The remaining day is at your leisure. You can explore MG Marg, a well-maintained boulevard where you can enjoy a leisurely walk, savour local food or refresh yourself with a steaming cup of coffee. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Enjoy your supper and tuck yourself in bed to have a good night sleep.

      Day 2 : Local Sightseeing in Gangtok

      Morning: Relish a warm breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will go for a local sightseeing experience in Gangtok. You can choose between two time slots: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm or 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Our tour representative will pick you up accordingly. 

      Sightseeing: Your sightseeing tour in Gangtok includes the following attractions: 

      • Tashi Viewpoint: A popular tourist spot with viewing platform and a telescope, offering picture-perfect views of the majestic Kanchenjunga and Sinilochu mountains. 
      • Ganesh Tok: A serene temple painted in yellow and green, perched on a hill top. It offers views of the mountains, valleys, and verdant landscapes. Opening Time: 9 am to 5 pm
      • Do Drul Chorten: The largest stupa in Sikkim, built by Trulshik Rinpoche. Around the stupa are two statues of Guru Padmasambhava and 108 prayer wheels. 
      • Bakthang Falls: A small natural waterfall with a modest bridge and a ziplining facility.
      • Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: A research centre and museum, well stocked with books, scrolls, scriptures, and religious artifacts around Tibetan culture. 
      • Rumtek Monastery: The largest monastery in Sikkim with some of the world’s rarest Buddhist religious artefacts, scriptures, and murals. 
      • Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom: A government-run institution for preserving and promoting indigenous arts and crafts.
      • Flower Exhibition Centre: Explore flower show and exhibition of orchids, cacti and succulents at the exhibition centre. The best time to visit during the spring season.

      Day 3 : Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake – Baba Mandir – Gangtok

      Morning: Have breakfast and get ready for another excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. The distance between Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake is approximately 42 km and takes 2 hours. 

      Tsomgo Lake: A glacial lake located at a height of 3,753 m (12,313 ft) is one of the most serene places in Sikkim. The lake’s water changes its colour depending on the season and during winters it freezes. You can sit around the lake, do birdwatching, and take photos. 

      Baba Mandir: Our next stop for today is Baba Mandir, which is 17 km away. This shrine and memorial was built in honour of Harbhajan Singh, an Indian soldier of Punjab Regiment.

      Nathula Pass Tour (optional): If weather conditions are suitable, you can include a visit to Nathula pass, one of Sikkim’s highest passes near the Indo-China border. 

      • Visit to Nathula Pass requires a permit with valid ID proofs. Permit processing can take up to 72 hours, so if you want to visit Nathula Pass, kindly inform us beforehand. 
      • Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
      • In case of unforeseen circumstances if a visit to Nathula gets cancelled, there is no refund on the permit. 

      Overnight Stay in Gangtok: Thereafter, get transferred back to Gangtok and enjoy your stay at the hotel.

      Day 4 : Gangtok to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station

      Morning: Begin your day with a quick breakfast, pack your bags, and check out on time. Our representative will reach the hotel to pick you up. 

      Drop-Off: Get transferred to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station to board your flight/train and return home with amazing memories of this short 3 day Gangtok family tour. The tour ends.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

      From airport/train station pick up and drop to transfers between attractions (such as Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake to Baba Mandir), all transfers provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

      Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR  or similar

      Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim  (ILP/PAP) 
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Sole foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
