      Daywise Sikkim family Package Gangtok, Lachen, & Lachung (5N/6D)

      Day 1 : Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station – Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours) | Leisure Time

      Arrival: Upon arrival at Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP station, our tour representative will receive you with a warm welcome and drive to Gangtok. From Bagdogra to Gangtok, you will be met with postcard perfect scenery – alpine forests, rolling hills, winding roads. In about 4-5 hours, you will reach Gangtok’s hotel and check in at the property. 

      Leisure Time: Enjoy your welcome drink and relax in your room. Later you can go out for a stroll in MG Marg, Gangtok’s most prominent avenue for shopping and dining with zero vehicular traffic. (MG Marg is closed on Tuesdays).  

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

      Day 2 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir (Optional Nathula Pass Tour)

      Morning: Start your day early with breakfast and then you will be transferred to Tsomgo Lake followed by Baba Mandir. The distance from Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake is around 42 kilometres and Baba Mandir is another 17 kms away from there. 

      Tsomgo Lake: A glacial lake with a rough oval shape, Tsomgo lake is at an elevation of 3,780 metres, surrounded by rugged mountains. It is also a holy site for Buddhists with a small temple and prayer flags near it. 

      Baba Mandir: A shrine and a memorial built for a soldier of the Indian Army, Harbhajan Singh. Devotees offer prayers for protection and seek blessings at the temple. 

      Optional Nathula Tour: Inform us beforehand, if you want to visit Nathula (pass) near the Indo-China border. (with additional costs). It requires a permit with a processing time of up to 72 hours. 

      Please note: 

      Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 

      If the visit to Nathula Pass gets cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no refund for the permit charges. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Post excursion, get transferred to Gangtok hotel, relish a warm evening meal and retire for the night.

      Day 3 : Gangtok to Lachen (107 km/4-5 hours)

      Morning: On the third day of the Sikkim family tour, we begin our journey to North Sikkim’s Lachen. You will receive a comfortable transfer in a comfortable car by our tour representative. On our way, we will stop by the following attractions: 

      Singhik View Point: The most picturesque viewpoint from where you can watch sweeping views of Mount Kanchenjunga range. On bright sunny days, the views become even clearer. 

      Waterfalls: There is nothing more relaxing than watching and listening to the gushing sound of beautiful waterfalls on a journey. The waterfalls you will come across on your way include Sister waterfalls, Naga waterfalls, Bheema waterfalls, and Twin falls.

      Arrival & Overnight stay in Lachen: The picturesque Lachen will welcome you. Check in at the hotel and relax in your room or go out for an easy-going walk. After dinner, stay the night at the hotel.

      Day 4 : Lachen to Lachung (47 km / 2 hours)

      Morning: After breakfast at the hotel you will depart for Lachung, but before that we will visit the following places one by one: 

      Thangu Village: A beautiful hamlet where one can observe the beauty of mountains from close quarters. Thangu valley is also home to Chopta, Thangu and Lassur rivers. We will stop here to have breakfast. 

      Gurudongmar Lake: A religiously significant lake for Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs, located at 17000 feet above sea level. A small part of the lake remains unfrozen, even in harsh winters as it was blessed by Guru Padmasambhava and Goddess Tara. 

      Chungthang: A picturesque town located at the confluence of the Lachen and Lachung rivers, which then becomes the mighty Teesta River. 

      Overnight at Lachung: Arrive in Lachung and have a warm cup of tea. If your energy levels allow,  stroll around the hotel and return for dinner and overnight stay.

      Day 5 : Lachung to Yumthang Valley & Transfer to Gangtok

      Breakfast & Yumthang Valley : Breakfast at the hotel, check out and depart for Yumthang Valley. This valley is located at a height of almost 12000 ft and known as Sikkim’s Valley of Flower. You will find blooms of primulas, rhododendrons, orchids, and many wildflowers growing on lush land. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: After Yumthang valley, transfer straight to Gangtok which is a roughly 7 to 8 hours of ride. Have dinner and stay the night at the hotel.

      Day 6 : Gangtok to Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP station | Departure

      Morning: Relish a warm breakfast and afterwards pack your bags. Our tour representative will drive you to Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP station. Your tour ends, head back home with happy memories of the trip.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

      SikkimTourism.org provides roundtrip transfers from the airport/train station to the hotel. We also provide transfers from Gangtok to Lachen to Lachung and return. All transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

      Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR  or similar

      Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Sole foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
