      Daywise Sikkim Family Tour Itinerary (5 nights/ 6 days)

      Day 1 : Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station – Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours) | Leisure Time

      Gangtok Arrival: You will receive pick up upon arrival at Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP station by our tour representative. Crossing the winding roads, enjoy a picturesque ride to Gangtok and arrive at your hotel to check in. 

      Leisure Time: Enjoy your leisure time for the day however you want. You can stay at the hotel and relax or go for a walk at MG Marg/Local Market. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Relish a warm dinner and take a good night’s sleep to wake rested and recharged

      Day 2 : Local Sightseeing in Gangtok

      Morning: The day starts with breakfast at the hotel and afterwards you will depart for a Gangtok excursion. We will cover the following attractions on a sightseeing tour. 

      Hanuman Tok: A Hanuman temple located on a hilltop at a height of 7200 feet (2194 meters) and is managed by the Indian Army. 

      Tashi Viewpoint: A famous tourist spot for observing the views of Mt Kanchejunga and has cafes and stalls in its proximity. 

      Bakthang Waterfall: A beautiful and refreshing waterfall cascading from rolling hills. It also features a ziplining facility and a modest footover bridge. 

      Do Drul Chorten: The largest stupa in Sikkim, comprising a complete set of Dorjee Phurba, Kangyur (Holy Books) and religious artifacts. It has 108 prayer wheels and two statues of Guru Rinpoche. 

      Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: Learn about Tibetan culture through artefacts, displays and exhibits in Namgyal’s museum. 

      Rumtek Monastery: A significant monastery with rare exhibits, murals, and other religious items. It is the main seat of the Karma Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. 

      Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom: A government-run institute promoting and preserving ethical arts and crafts. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: End your tour at MG Marg and make your way back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

      Day 3 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir (Optional Nathula Pass Tour)

      Morning: After breakfast, get ready for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Our tour representative will pick you up from the hotel and drive off to Tsomgo, which is 42 km away. 

      Tsomgo Lake: An alpine lake at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft) above sea level. It is surrounded by mountains and the lake is known for its changing hues, depending on the season. 

      Baba Mandir: Next, you will visit Baba Mandir, a shrine built in honour of an Indian Army soldier who is considered a folk hero and a saint. The temple is located at 13,123 ft. 

      Nathula Optional Tour: You can also get Nathula tour added in your family package with additional cost. The mountain pass is near the international border and requires a permit to visit. 

      Please note that if the Nathula Pass visit gets cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, the amount for the permit will not be refunded.  Also, Nathula pass is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Return to Gangtok with our tour coordinator who will drop you off at the hotel. Enjoy your night stay at the hotel.

      Day 4 : Gangtok – Namchi – Ravangla – Pelling

      Morning: Greet the new day in Gangtok and brace yourself for a drive from Gangtok to Pelling with stopovers in Namchi and Ravangla. After breakfast, you will receive a pick up by our representative. 

      Namchi: The first point of the attraction of the day is Namchi’s Char Dham (Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameshwaram), which is a replica of the original char dham mandir.  Later, we will visit the Samdruptse Statue. It’s a 135-foot tall statue of Guru Padmasambhava located on Samdruptse Hill. 

      Ravangla’s Buddha Park: Next, we will visit Ravangla’s famous Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal), featuring a 130-foot-high (40 m) statue of the Buddha made of copper. The park is ideal for strolling or sitting with oneself at peace. 

      Arrive in Pelling: After a long card ride and sightseeing along the way, you will reach Pelling’s hotel for check in.

      Overnight stay in Pelling: Enjoy your meal and stay for the night at the hotel.

      Day 5 : Local Sightseeing in Pelling

      Morning: Day 5 of the tour brings us to the local sightseeing tour in Pelling. Make sure to have breakfast on time and soon after our representative will come to pick you up. 

      Sightseeing in Pelling: You will explore the following attractions, which include lakes, waterfalls, villages, and enchanting sites of Pelling. 

      • Darap Valley – A picturesque valley close to Pelling, famous for its attractions such as Pelling Sky walk and Rabdentse Ruins.
      • Rimbi waterfalls – A beautiful waterfall just a few kilometers away from Darap Village near the roadside. Ideal for taking photos. 
      • Sewaro Rock Garden – A scenic spot set amidst lush greenery and features flowers, fountains and rock sculptures.  
      • Kanchenjunga waterfalls – One of the largest waterfalls in Sikkim, Kanchenjunga waterfall with its milky white water and gurgling sounds is both beautiful and refreshing to see and hear. 
      • Khecheopalri Lake –  Set amidst lush greenery, Khecheopalri Lake is a sacred site marked with prayer flags. Locals consider it as a wish fulfillment lake as it was blessed by Guru Padmasambhava and the Goddess Tara.
      • O/N Stay in Pelling: After a full day of sightseeing in Pelling, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

      Day 6 : Pelling to Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station

      Morning: After breakfast, check out from the hotel and our representative will pick you up from the hotel. Get a seamless transfer from Gangtok’s hotel to Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station. 

      Departure: From Bagdogra(IXB)/NJP station, catch your flight/train and depart to your home. We wish you safe travels. The tour ends here.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

      We provide roundtrip transfers from the airport/train station to the hotel. All transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

      Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR  or similar

      Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Sole foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
