    Daywise Sikkim Family Tour Itinerary (6 nights/ 7 days)

    Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station to Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours)

    Arrival: Our tour agent will receive you at Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station and drive to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. Sit back, relax and admire the views of mountains, valleys, and greenery. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel, relish a welcome drink and relax in your room. 

    Leisure Time: The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy at your leisure. You can explore the famous MG Marg, a bustling boulevard for tourists and locals to shop and dine.  

    Overnight in Gangtok: Rerun to the hotel and tuck yourself in the bed to get a good night’s sleep.

    Day 2 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (Optional Nathula Tour)

    Morning: Relish your morning meal at the hotel and get ready for a lovely excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. We will first head to Tsomgo Lake which is 42 kms from Gangtok. 

    Tsomgo Lake: A beautiful and serene alpine lake at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft) sea level: Tsomgo lake is a holy site with prayer flags and a small temple in its vicinity. It’s also a spot to watch native and migratory birds. (Yak or Pony ride at additional costs) 

    Baba Mandir: Next, we head to Baba Mandir (13,123 ft), a sanctum built for an Indian Army soldier who departed while serving his duty near Nathula. He is considered  a guardian spirit and a saint by the locals. 

    Nathula Tour (Optional): At additional cost, you can plan a tour to Nathula, a mountain pass near the Indo-China border. Indian tourists require a permit and valid ID proof to visit Nathula. 

    Please note that if the Nathula Pass visit gets cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, the amount for the permit will not be refunded.  Also, Nathula pass is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. 

    Overnight stay in Gangtok: After sightseeing for the day, you will be transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

    Day 3 : Gangtok to Pelling (via Namchi & Ravangla)

    Morning: On the day 3 of the Sikkim tour, we will depart from Gangtok and go towards Pelling, taking a detour at Namchi and Ravangla. So, have you breakfast and get ready for the journey. 

    Namchi: The capital of South Sikkim district, Namchi is a beautiful town. You will visit Siddheshwar Dham (Char Dham Mandir). The temple can be easily recognised by the large Shiva statue. Next, you will explore the Samdruptse Statue, a 135 ft statue of Guru Padmasambhava perched on a hilltop. 

    Ravangla: In the picturesque town of Ravangla, you will stop by Buddha park which has a manicured garden, pathways, fountains, and a giant statue of Lord Buddha (130-ft-high (40 m). Go for a stroll in the park and take photos. 

    Overnight stay in Pelling: Upon arrival at the hotel, check in, relish a warm dinner and stay the night.

    Day 4 : Pelling Sightseeing - Khecheopalri Lake, Darap Valley & more

    Morning: Wake up, refresh yourself, and savour a warm and healthy breakfast. Today, you will be going around Pelling (West Sikkim) to explore its famous attractions. 

    Sightseeing Tour: From lakes to valleys, and waterfalls to garden, these are the best spots to see in Pelling on a sightseeing tour: 

    • Khecheopalri Lake: The most significant lake in Pelling, known as the wish-fulfillment lake, bordered by lush trees. You can sit by the lake, meditate and offer prayers. 
    • Darap Valley: An emerald green valley known for its organic farming and village tourism at a height of 1,600 meters above sea level. 
    • Rabdentse Ruins: A historic site famous for viewing the ruins of a palace and stupas of the old capital of Sikkim. The place also offers some of the best views. 
    • Rimbi Waterfall & Orange Garden: A beautiful milky white waterfall located beside a well-maintained garden with cardamom plants and vibrant orange orchards.  
    • Pemayangtse Monastery: A three-story structure adorned with complex woodwork and colorful murals. It’s Sikkim’s one of oldest monasteries built by Lhatsum Chempo 
    • Kanchenjunga Falls: Watch the stunning and gurgling waterfall whose origin is believed to be the Kanchenjunga glacier. 

    Overnight in Pelling: Post a full day of sightseeing in Pelling, you will be dropped back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

    Day 5 : Pelling to Darjeeling (North Bengal)

    Morning: Brace yourself for a trip to Darjeeling, aka “Queen of Hills”. Have your breakfast and check out from the hotel. Get transferred to Darjeeling in a comfortable hatchback/SUV depending on the group size. The distance from Gangtok to Darjeeling is 70 km and takes about 3.5 to 4 hours. 

    Hotel Check in: Upon arrival, you will be taken directly to the hotel for check in. After that, you can relax at the hotel or explore the Mall Road/ Chowrasta of Darjeeling. 

    Overnight stay in Darjeeling: Get back to the hotel and stay the night at the hotel.

    Day 6 : Darjeeling Sightseeing - Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery & more

    Early Morning: At 4:00 AM, we will depart for Tiger Hill to catch the views of sunrise. Mt Kanchenjunga and Mt. Everest (on a clear day). The very first rays of the sun illuminates the peak of the hill before it spreads to the lower area, making a standout view. 

    Batasia Loop: A spiral railway track (for Darjeeling’s Toy Train) surrounded by a lush garden and walkways. 

    Ghoom Monastery: A significant monastery which has rare Buddhist manuscripts, a 15-foot statue of Maitreya Buddha, and other religious artefacts. 

    Breakfast at the hotel: You will return to the hotel for breakfast and continue your sightseeing tour of Darjeeling. 

    Other Attractions: Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Japanese Temple, The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Sunday), Tibetan Refugee Center, Tea Garden (from outside). 

    Overnight stay in Darjeeling: After sightseeing, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

    Day 7 : Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport(IXB)/NJP Station.

    Morning: Have an early breakfast and check out from the property. Our tour representative will pick you up and transfer from Darjeeling Bagdogra Airport(IXB)/NJP Station. (70 km/ 3 hours)

    Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

    SikkimTourism.org provides roundtrip transfers from the airport/train station to the hotel. It also includes transfers from Gangtok to Pelling to Darjeeling. All transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

    Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR or similar

    Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

    Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

    Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
    1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
    1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
    1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
    1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
    1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
    1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Sole foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
