      Daywise Sikkim Family Tour Itinerary (7 nights/ 8 days)

      Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station to Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours)

      Welcome to Gangtok: Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station, you will receive a car transfer (hatchback/SUV) to Gangtok by our representative. After checking at the hotel, enjoy a welcome drink and relax yourself from the long travel. 

      Leisure Time: Enjoy your leisure time by exploring the MG Marg by going for a leisurely stroll. Savour local dishes like momo or thukpa and enjoy a cup of coffee. The entire MG Marg is lined with stores and cafes. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Return to the hotel and stay the night at the hotel.

      Day 2 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (Optional Nathula Tour)

      Morning: Treat yourself to a delicious breakfast and get ready for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Bana Mandir. 

      Distance from Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake is around 42 kilometres 

      Tsomgo Lake to Baba Mandir is around 17 kms 

      Tsomgo Lake: Explore the enchanting beauty of Tsomgo Lake, perched at an altitude of 3,780 metres. The lake is in a rough oval shape, has prayer flags and a small temple in its vicinity. People also come here to take blessings and seek serenity. 

      Baba Mandir: Discover the folklore of Baba Mandir, a temple and a memorial dedicated to Indian Army soldier, Harbhajan Singh. 

      Nathula Tour (Optional): You can get the Nathula tour added in your itinerary (at additional costs). This mountain pass is near the Indo-China border and requires a permit and valid ID proofs. 

      Please note: 

      Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 

      If the visit to Nathula Pass gets cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no refund for the permit charges. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: You will be driven back to the hotel where you will stay the night.

      Day 3 : Gangtok to Lachen (107 km/4-5 hours)

      Morning: Wake up next morning and after breakfast you will depart for North Sikkim’s town Lachen in Mangan district. The journey from Gangtok to Lachen is absolutely picturesque. You will come across the following points of interest. 

      Singhik Viewpoint: A popular viewpoint for watching panoramic Himalayan vistas. It’s also the vantage point where you can view the confluence of  Kanak and Teesta rivers. 

      Scenic Waterfalls: We will stop by several different waterfalls that are soothing to hear and refreshing to watch. The waterfalls include: Sister waterfalls, Naga waterfalls, Bheema waterfalls, and Twin falls. 

      Arrive in Lachen: You will be welcomed at the Lachen hotel. Check in and enjoy a cup of tea. If energy levels allow, you may go for a stroll near the property and then return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Lachen.

      Day 4 : Lachen to Lachung (47 km / 2 hours)

      Morning: Wake up the next morning and take in the fresh mountain air and scenic views of the Lachen. Refresh yourself and have breakfast. After that, you will be leaving for Lachung. On our way we will stop by the following attractions. 

      Thangu and Chopta Valley: Two beautiful valleys with verdant greenery, enchanting alpine beauty and rivers such as Chopta, Thangu and Lassur. 

      Gurudongmar Lake: A religiously significant lake, Gurudongmar Lake is a holy site for Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs. The lake was blessed by Guru Ripoche, and a part of this lake never freezes. It is also one of the highest lakes in India. 

      Chungthang: A quaint and beautiful town located at the confluence of the Lachen and Lachung rivers. 

      Arrive in Lachung: After checking in at the hotel, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the dinner. The overnight stay will be in Lachung.

      Day 5 : Lachung - Yumthang Valley - Gangtok

      Morning: Treat yourself to a nice breakfast at the hotel and get ready to visit the Valley of Flower, i.e. Yumthang valley. 

      Yumthang Valley: We will drive for 25 km and reach Yumthang. The valley is located at a height of almost 12000 ft and is carpeted by lush greenery and flowers like primulas, rhododendrons, orchids. You will also find some yaks and mules grazing on the pastures. After taking photos here, we will proceed to Gangtok. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Enjoy your stay for the night in Gangtok.

      Day 6 : Gangtok to Darjeeling (98 km/ 4-5 hours)

      Morning: Get ready for an exciting trip to Darjeeling, one of the best hill-sitting around Sikkim. After breakfast, our tour representative will pick you up from the hotel. We will explore many interesting sights of this hill-station. 

      Arrive in Darjeeling: After a road trip of 4 to 5 hours, we will arrive in Darjeeling. Check in at the hotel and enjoy your leisure time. You can also explore the Mall Road/Chowrasta of Darjeeling in your free time. 

      Overnight stay in Darjeeling: Return to the hotel and head to your room for a peaceful slumber.

      Day 7 : Sightseeing in Darjeeling

      Early Morning: Wake up early and around 4:00 am to visit the beautiful attraction: Tiger Hill to watch sunrise. You will also get to see unobstructed views of Mountain Kanchenjunga. The first sunray falling on the peak of the hill creates a beautiful sight. 

      Next we will explore/visit the following attractions in Darjeeling. In between, you will  be dropped at the hotel for breakfast and later resume your sightseeing excursion.

      Overnight stay in Darjeeling: After this eventful day of sightseeing in Darjeeling, return to the hotel and stay the night.

      Day 8 : Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station

      Breakfast & Check out: Next morning, pack your bags and have your breakfast at the hotel. Complete the check out formalities and depart for Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station with our tour representative. 

      Drop off: After dropping you off at Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station, we will part ways. The Sikkim family tour concludes, returning home with happy memories.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

      Enjoy roundtrip transfers from the airport/train station to the hotel with the Sikkim family tour packages. For the above package, we provide transfers from Gangtok to Lachen to Lachung and Darjeeling. All transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

      Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR or similar

      Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Single foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
