      Daywise Sikkim Family Tour Itinerary (8 nights/ 9 days)

      Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station to Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours)

      Arrival: You will be received by our tour coordinator at Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station and transferred to Gangtok in a car (hatchback/SUV car). The ride towards Gangtok is scenic with peaks, valleys and lush greenery. Check in at the hotel and relax in your room.

      Leisure Time: This is your leisure day in Gangtok so go around and stroll in MG Marg. The pedestrian-friendly zone has some of the best shopping and dining opportunities. Post that, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Gangtok.

      Day 2 : Sightseeing in Gangtok

      Morning: Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel and get ready for a local sightseeing tour in Gangtok. There are two time slots available: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm or 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and you can pick one that suits you. 

      Ganesh Tok: A Ganesha temple on a hilltop (6500 m), offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. Opening Time: 9 am to 5 pm

      Tashi Viewpoint: A famous viewpoint in Gangtok with a viewing platform and telescope that offers a nice view of the Mt. Kanchenjunga. 

      Do Drul Chorten: Sikkim’s largest stupa built by Trulshik Rinpoche in Tibetan style. The stupa is believed to provide protection from evil spirits. The stupa has 108 prayer wheels surrounding it and inside the stupa, you will find rare religious artefacts.  

      Bakthang Waterfall: A small and refreshing waterfall with a ziplining facility and tea/snack stalls around it. 

      Gangtok Ropeway: A cable car ride (two-way) that offers bird’s eye view of Gangtok. It starts with Deorali and ends at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. Tickets can be purchased on a direct payment basis. 

      Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: Learn and explore about Tibetan culture and Tibetan Buddhism through museum displays and exhibits. 

      Rumtek Monastery: The largest monastery in Sikkim with some of the rarest Buddhist religious artefacts, scriptures, thangkas and murals.

      Directorate of Handloom & Handicraft: An institute for promotion and preservation of ethnic arts and crafts of Sikkim, includes a variety of crafts on displays. 

      MG Marg: End your Gangtok sightseeing tour at MG Marg. Enjoy a cup of coffee or buy some souvenirs before heading back to the hotel. 

      Overnight stay: After a long day of sightseeing, stay the night at the hotel.

      Day 3 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (Optional Nathula Tour)

      Morning: Wake up in the charming Gangtok and after breakfast, you will leave for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. The distance between Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake is approximately 42 km and takes 2 hours. 

      Tsomgo Lake: The serene Tsomgo lake 3,753 m (12,313 ft) is one of the most-visited places in Sikkim. It’s a sacred site with a temple and prayer flags in its vicinity. The water of the lake also changes its colours depending on the season. 

      Baba Mandir: Our next stop for today is Baba Mandir, which is 17 km away. This shrine and memorial was built in honour of Harbhajan Singh, an Indian soldier of Punjab Regiment.

      Nathula Pass Tour (optional): Explore one of the highest mountain passes near the international borders India and Tibet Autonomous region with additional charges.

      • Nathula Pass requires a permit with valid ID proofs. Permit processing can take up to 72 hours, so if you want to visit Nathula Pass, kindly inform us beforehand. 
      • Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
      • In case of unforeseen circumstances if a visit to Nathula gets cancelled, the amount for permit processing will not be refunded. 

      Overnight Stay in Gangtok: Thereafter, our tour agent will drive you back to Gangtok hotel where you will stay the night.

      Day 4 : Gangtok to Pelling (via Namchi & Ravangla)

      Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready to explore many more sights of Sikkim. Today, you will be leaving for Pelling with a stop over in Namchi and Ravangla. You will be travelling via hatchback/SUV car depending on the number of pax.

      Namchi: Our first stop is Namchi and here we will explore the famous Siddheshwar Dham temple which has a giant Shiva statue and 4 miniature versions of the Char Dham temple. Next, you will visit Samdruptse Statue, which is a giant 135-ft tall statue of Guru Padmasambhava (Rinpoche) on a hilltop. 

      Ravangla’s Buddha Park: Next on our travel circuit is Ravangla’s Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal). It features a giant copper Buddha statue which is 130 ft tall. Opening time: 9 am – 5 pm.

      Overnight stay in Pelling: After completing our sightseeing tour, you will arrive in Pelling and stay the night.

      Day 5 : Sightseeing in Pelling

      Morning: On day 5 of your Sikkim tour, you will explore all the top sights of Pelling, West Sikkim. But before that make sure to have your breakfast. Later, you will receive a pick up at the hotel. 

      Khecheopalri Lake: The famous and sacred Khecheopalri Lake is a significant religious site whose waters were believed to be blessed by Guru Padmasambhava and Goddess Tara. It is also called the wish-fulfillment lake and devotees come here to offer prayers. 

      Darap Village: Explore the lush fields of Darap village famous for its organic farming, enchanting natural beauty and village tourism.

      Rabdentse Ruins: Watch the ruins of the erstwhile capital of Sikkim. It’s a great historic site that offers beautiful views. 

      Rimbi Waterfalls & Orange Garden: Next, you will enjoy the views of Rimbi waterfalls. Later you can explore the orange orchards in Rimbi orange garden. There are also cardamom plantations that are grown in the garden. 

      Kanchenjunga waterfalls: Watch the Kanchenjunga waterfalls cascading from a steep height and making the gurgling sound. The waterfall is perennial and the glacier of Kanchenjunga is considered to be its source.  

      Overnight stay in Pelling: After the sightseeing tour, return to the hotel and stay the night.

      Day 6 : Pelling to Darjeeling Transfer

      Morning: After breakfast, check out from the hotel and  transfer to Darjeeling in a comfortable car. The ride towards Darjeeling may be bumpy depending on road conditions, so we will start early. Say farewell to Gangtok and leave for Darjeeling. 

      The distance from Gangtok to Darjeeling is 70 km and takes about 3.5 to 4 hours. 

      Arrive in Darjeeling: Upon arrival at the hotel in Darjeeling, check in at the hotel. You can take your time to relax or explore Mall Road/Chowrasta. You can shop for souvenirs, dine at local eateries or international food chains or enjoy a pony ride (at your own expense). 

      Overnight stay in Darjeeling: Get back to the hotel and stay the night in your room.

      Day 7 : Darjeeling Sightseeing

      Tiger Hill Visit: Wake up early for the Tiger Hill visit (around 4:00 am) to see the sunrise and views of Mt Kanchejunga. Experience the ethereal view of sunrays falling on the mountain peak, making it glow before the low-lying areas.  

      Ghoom Monastery: Next, we will visit Ghoom Monastery built by Sokpo Sherab Gyatso who is a famous monk and Mongolian astrologer. It houses 15ft. statue of Lord Bhuddha. 

      Batasia Loop: A 360 degree railway track laid around a lush garden and walking pathways. 

      Breakfast at Hotel: We will take a break from sightseeing and return to the hotel for breakfast. 

      Other Darjeeling Attractions: Continuing sightseeing in Darjeeling, we will explore Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Japanese Temple, The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Sunday), Tibetan Refugee Center, Tea Garden (from outside). We will end our tour on Mall Road. 

      Overnight stay in Darjeeling: Our tour agent will drop you back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

      Day 8 : Darjeeling to Kalimpong & Sightseeing (50.7 km/ 3 hours)

      Morning: Begin your day with an early breakfast and check out from the hotel. Our tour agent will transfer you to another hill station – Kalimpong. 

      Arrive in Kalimpong: Upon arrival in Kalimpong, check in at the hotel and depart for a sightseeing tour to the following places. 

      Durpin Dara (Viewpoint): Known as the Binocular hill, offering unobstructed views of West Sikkim, the Teesta River, and the Jelepla Pass

      Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery: A significant Tibetan monastery  of the Nyingma school founded by Dudjom Rinpoche in 1957. 

      Deolo Hill: A prominent tourist spot at 1,704 meters (5,590 ft) with a park, recreational activities and panoramic views of mountain, Kalimpong town and Teesta river. Later, we will visit a flower and orchid nursery. 

      Evening (Leisure Time): The evening is free to enjoy at your leisure. You can explore a local market or stay at the hotel.

      Overnight stay in Kalimpong: Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kalimpong.

      Day 9 : Kalimpong to Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station (78 Km/ 3.5 hours)

      Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and check out. Our tour agent will drive you to Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/ NJP Station. Board your flight/train and return home. We wish you safe travels. The tour ends here.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

For the above package, we provide transfers from Gangtok – Pelling – Darjeeling –Kalimpong.The transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are:

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Single foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
