      Daywise Darjeeling, North Sikkim & Pelling Family Tour Itinerary (9 nights/ 10 days)

      Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station – Darjeeling (70 km/ 3 hours)

      Arrival: Our tour representative will meet you at the Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station and transfer you to Darjeeling. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and relish a welcome drink. The rest of the day is free for you to explore. Enjoy this leisure time by visiting Chowrasta/Mall Road. Opening time: 10 am to 8 pm, and closed on every second and fourth Saturday. 

      Overnight stay in Darjeeling: Return to hotel and stay the night.

      Day 2 : Local Sightseeing in Darjeeling

      Early Morning: Wake up early in the morning and you will receive a pick up at 4:00 am. Get ready for a Tiger Hill visit (8000 ft) to view a sunrise over Mt. Kanchejunga Peak. The sunrays illuminate the peak before any of the lower areas, creating a picturesque scenery. 

      Ghoom Monastery: Just near Tiger Hill, we will stop by Ghoom monastery. It was the first Tibetan Buddhist monastery built in Darjeeling and is known for housing a 15 ft (4.6 m)-high Maitreya Buddha statue. 

      Batasia Loop: A 360-degree train track (loop) designed in 1919 for Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. It has a lush landscaped garden where visitors go for a walk.  

      Back to Hotel: Post the first part of the sightseeing tour, you will return to the hotel for breakfast and later continue the tour. 

      Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park – The largest high-altitude zoo of India, featuring a museum, and conservation programmes for red panda, snow leopard, Himalayan tahr, etc.(Closed on Thursday)

      Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday): A mountaineering training center and museum in Darjeeling. The museum displays tools and equipment used from the first Mount Everest expedition. 

      Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday): Explore and learn about Tibetan culture through arts and crafts of Tibetans. Then we will visit a Tea Estate (from outside). 

      Mall Road: End your day’s tour at Mall Road. You can go shopping and dining at a restaurant or cafe. (at your own expense). 

      Overnight stay in Darjeeling: You will be dropped off at the hotel for an overnight stay.

      Day 3 : Darjeeling to Gangtok Transfer + Leisure Day

      Morning: Start your day with a quick breakfast and then check out from the hotel.  Today, you will transfer to Sikkim’s capital Gangtok. Our representative will drive you to Gangtok in a comfortable car. 

      Leisure Day: Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and enjoy your leisure day. Explore Gangtok’s famous tourist spot MG Marg that is lined with stores and restaurants . 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok. After outdoor exploration, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

      Day 4 : Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

      Morning: We will depart early for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Both these points of interest are situated on a high altitude. 

      Tsomgo Lake: An alpine lake at an elevation of 3,780 metres above sea level. The lake is a holy site for people of Sikkim. The colour of the lake’s water changes depending on the season. 

      Baba Mandir: Next, we will journey for another 17 kms to reach Baba Mandir. It’s a cenotaph and a holy shrine to honour the Indian Army soldier and folk hero, Harbhajan Singh. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: After today’s excursion, you will be dropped off at the hotel to enjoy a peaceful sleep.

      Day 5 : Gangtok to Lachen (107 km/4-5 hours)

      Morning: Savour  a warm breakfast at the hotel and post that we will leave for a North Sikkim excursion. Enjoy a scenic ride from Gangtok to Lachen and on our way you will stop by the following attractions: 

      Singhik Viewpoint: A scenic stopover at Singhik viewpoint will allow you to see sweeping views of Mt. Kanchejunga range. You can also see the meeting point of Teesta and Kanaka rivers. 

      Waterfalls: On our way to Lachen, we will drive past many beautiful waterfalls including the Seven sister waterfalls, Naga waterfalls, Bheema waterfalls, and Twin falls.

      Arrival in Lachen & O/N stay: Welcome to the enchanting Lachen village. Check in at the hotel and comfortably relax in your room. Have dinner at night and enjoy a peaceful sleep.

      Day 6 : Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake, O/N stay in Lachung

      Morning: Say farewell to Lachen as we move forward with the Sikkim tour. Our representative will transfer you to Lachung, another beautiful hamlet of North Sikkim. Enroute, we will stop by the following spots: 

      Thangu Village: We will stop by Thangu village for breakfast and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. The village has alpine forests, wooden houses, and is a base for trekkers. 

      Gurudongmar Lake: A holy lake for Buddhists, Sikhs and Hindus at an elevation of 17000 feet above sea level. The lake was blessed by Guru Padmasambhava and a small part of the lake remains unfrozen, even in harsh winters (- 20 degree C). 

      Arrival in Lachung & O/N Stay: After a car ride of almost 3 hours, you will arrive in Lachung where you will enjoy a dinner and stay the night at the hotel.

      Day 7 : Lachung to Yumthang Valley – Gangtok

      Morning: On the day 7 of the tour, you will explore Sikkim’s Valley of Flowers. So have your breakfast and depart with our tour representative.  

      Yumthang Valley: A beautiful valley about 25 kms from Lachung, Yumthang valley has beautiful flowers carpeting its landscape. You will find Himalayan flowers such as primulas, rhododendrons, poppies and irises growing all around the valley. From there, we will stop by the Hot Spring, known for its mineral-rich waters. 

      Towards Gangtok with O/N stay: After Yumthang valley, our representative will transfer you to Gangtok. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and retire for the night.

      Day 8 : Gangtok to Pelling (with Namchi & Ravangla’s Buddha Park)

      Morning: The day starts with a quick breakfast and afterwards, you will check out and depart for Pelling, with a detour at Namchi and Ravangla. 

      Namchi: In Namchi, we will stop by Siddehswar Dham which has a giant Shiva statue and miniature replicas of original char dham temples (Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri, and Rameshwaram). Thereafter, we will move ahead and visit the Samdruptse Statue (Guru Padmasambhava), 135 ft tall statue on a hilltop, offers amazing views. 

      Ravangla: Next, you will explore Ravangla’s Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal), which houses a 130 ft tall copper statue of Lord Buddha. The landscaped park is ideal for a peaceful stroll and taking photos.  

      Pelling:  At last, you will arrive at Pelling’s pre-booked hotel and check in. Stay the night at the hotel.

      Day 9 : Local Sightseeing in Pelling

      Morning: Savour a delicious breakfast and brace up for a sightseeing tour in Pelling. We wil explore the following attractions: 

      Darap Village: A picture village with rolling hills, verdant landscapes, and lush paddy fields, an ideal place for village tourism and bucolic life. The village is also home to Sikkim’s Limboo community. 

      Rimbi Water Falls & Orange Garden: Next, we will stop by the refreshing waterfall in Rimbi and also explore an orange garden, plated with orange orchards and cardamom plantations. 

      Pelling Skywalk: Find India’s first glass skywalk in Pelling located at an elevation of 7200 ft (approx). You get amazing views of Kanchenjuga range, alpine greenery, and the statue of Chenrezing. (ticket available on direct payment basis). 

      Rabdentse Ruins: Explore the ruins of Sikkim’s erstwhile capital’s palace and stupa. The historic site also provides delightful views. 

      Kanchenjunga waterfalls: Watch the cascading waterfall amidst lush greenery on rocky terrains. Just the sound and sight of the waterfall will soothe your mind. 

      Khecheopalri Lake: It is situated at an altitude of 5,600 ft. above sea level. The aerial view of the lake is said to look like Buddha’s foot. Khecheopalri Lake is a holy site and is believed to be blessed by Guru Padmasambhav and Goddess Tara. 

      Overnight stay in Pelling: After this tour, you will be transferred to a hotel to stay the night.

      Day 10 : Pelling to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station

      Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and complete the check out process. Our representative will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station. The tour ends here.

      Transfers in Sikkim (Car Options)

      Enjoy roundtrip transfers from the airport/train station to the hotel with the Sikkim family tour packages. For the above package, we provide transfers from Darjeeling, Gangtok, Lachen and finally Lachung. All transfers are provided in a clean and well-maintained car (SUV/hatchback). The car options are: 

      Standard four-wheeler: Tata Sumo / Bolero / WagonR or similar

      Luxury four-wheeler: Innova / Xylo / Scorpio or similar 

      Please note that the biggest vehicle we can offer is a 7-seater SUV. We do not provide bus or tempo traveller options.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim (ILP/PAP)
      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Single foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
