One can attend Losar (Tibetan New Year) celebrated in February or March in which monasteries are lit up with colours, folk music, masked dance and celebration. In May and June, Sikkim celebrates Saga Dawa, it commemorates Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and passing. It is open to all visitors and quite unique to this region of India.
