Breath-takingly beautiful Geyzing is located in the fold of the mountains of Kanchenjunga. It is a peaceful and quiet town that can create magic with its natural beauty and solitude. Located at an elevation of 6500 ft., Geyzing showcases a spiritual tranquillity for nurturing a number of famous and holy monasteries like Pemayangtse and Sangachoeling. The town is mostly inhabited by the Nepalese community. It is also an important place for pilgrimage for the Buddhist community.

The exotic town of Pelling is located approximately 10 km from Geyzing. Pelling is a picturesque hill station very popular among travellers and tourists of all ages and all across the country for its panoramic views of the colossal Kanchenjunga mountain range. It is also a go-to destination for nature lovers, hikers and trekkers. Pelling is appropriate for visiting any time of the year. The ideal time might be demarcated as starting from mid-February to May and from September to December. The peak winter months of January till mid-February are quite cold in Pelling but still can be cherished and be amazed with plenty of warm clothes. The most prominent places to visit in and around Pelling can be identified as Rabdentse Ruins, Singshore Bridge, Pemayangtse Gompa, Sangacholing Monastery, Kanchenjunga Fall and Khecheopalri Lake.

This unusually beautiful lake is situated about 25 km from Geyzing, this sacred lake is considered holy by both Buddhists and Hindus. Apart from its religious importance and reverence attached to it, this lake is also nestled by unlimited beauty and is surrounded by dense forests and offers a tranquil environment for meditation and relaxation. Be at peace and one with nature in this beautiful location. This extraordinary lake is to be avoided during the monsoons. The best time to visit this lake can be identified as the months of October to May. Best season to visit the lake can be recommended as the winters months of October to February. During these winter months the natural beauty of the lake is at its peak. The historically significant town of Yuksom is located about 40 km from Geyzing. It was the first capital of Sikkim and now serves as the base camp for trekking enthusiasts, including those attempting the popular Kanchenjunga Trek. The best time to visit Yuksom are the months of March to June and September to October for sightseeing as well as outdoor activities. Summer season serves as an ideal season to plan an exciting vacation to Yuksom. Some of the most prominent places to visit in and around Yuksom are Tashi Tenka Monastery, Tashiding Monastery, Dubdi Monastery, Khangchendzonga National Park and Coronation Throne among others.

This ornamental and prominent Buddhist monastery is situated about 20 km from Geyzing. Its spiritual significance combined with the stunning views of the surrounding mountains that it offers create a perfect holiday destination. The months of March and April and then again the months of September and October are considered the best time to visit Tashiding Monastery. A peep into the vibrant celebrations of local festivities such as Bhumchu can be enjoyed in the months of February and March. This unique festival is celebrated every year and draws a huge crowd along with Buddhist devotees in huge numbers. Some of the most prominent places to visit in and around Tashiding Monastery are Buddha Park, Pemayangtse Gompa, Rabdentse Ruins, Ralong Monastery, Kanchenjunga Falls, Khecheopalri Lake and Pemayangtse Monastery.

Gyalshing or Geyzing, is a small town in West Sikkim which is also the district headquarters. Gyalshing means ‘the King’s garden,’ and Gyalshing was indeed the royal garden once upon a time and was connected to the royal palace of Rabdentse.
Geyzing is located at a height of about 6,500 feet. It is connected to the famous towns of West Bengal of Darjeeling and Kalimpong via Jorethang. It is located a few kilometres south of Pelling and is predominantly inhabited by Nepali population. Nepali is the language mostly spoken or used in the region.
