1. Tashi Viewpoint – Watch the glorious views of Himalayan mountain range including Mt Kanchenjunga, and Mount Siniolchu at Tashi Viewpoint. It is located approximately 8 kms from Gangtok and the best time to visit there is during sunrise. Tourists also take photos and enjoy a warm cup of tea and snack from nearby stalls.
2. Tsomgo Lake – Situated at a height of 12,400 ft. Tsomogo Lake is about 40 kms from Gangtok. It changes its colours with the seasons but remains frozen during winters. It is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, rugged cliffs and alpine vegetation.
3. Lachung – Located in North Sikkim, Lachung is a beautiful village where the Lachung river flows gently. The village features rhododendron sanctuary, gushing Bhim Nala Waterfalls, Lachung monastery and is the gateway to Yumthang Valley.
4. Kanchenjunga Falls – Kanchenjunga Falls is a popular tourist attraction in Thingle I, Sikkim. The cool white water cascades from a height of 30 metres and its origin is believed to be the glacier of Mt Kanchenjunga. Surrounded by profuse greenery, it’s a must-visit for nature lovers.
5. Yumthang Valley – Located at a height of 11,693 ft, Yumthang Valley is amongst the most picture-perfect places in all of Sikkim. It is known as the Valley of Flowers as 24+ species of flowers grow there including crimson rhododendrons and orchids during Late March to early June.
