Bagdogra airport (IXB) to Gangtok distance: 125 km | Transfer time: 4.5 – 5  hours.

NJP station to Gangtok 115 km | Transfer time: 4 hours.

Hotel Check-in: Arrive at the hotel and proceed to check in. Unwind and refresh  in your room. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Leisure Time: You can explore MG Marg, India’s first spit, litter and smoking free zone. The road is free from vehicular traffic, making it extremely pedestrian friendly. You can window shop, enjoy a cup of coffee or delight taste buds by indulging in local cuisine.

Overnight stay in Gangtok: Return to the hotel and enjoy a peaceful slumber on your first day of trip.

Day 2: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion (Optional Tour: Nathula Pass)

Morning: The second day of the Gangtok, Lachen & Lachung tour, we will explore the beautiful Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Enjoy a beautiful ride amidst mountainous roads and captivating views.

Tsomgo Lake: Our first stop is Tsogo Lake (Changgu Lake for locals) which is at a height of 3,753 m (12,313 ft). This glacial lake is one of the holy lakes of Sikkim. Feel the tranquil atmosphere, melodious chirping of the birds and fluttering of prayer flags around this lake.

Baba Mandir: Next, we will visit Baba Mandir which is both a sacred shrine and a memorial for soldier Harbhajan Singh. The locals believe the spirit of the departed soldier still protects the Indo-China border and hence to honour him, devotees pray for peace and seek blessing at the shrine.

Optional Tour Nathula Pass: One of the highest mountain passes in Sikkim near the Indo-China border. You can include a trip to Nathula with additional charges.

      • However, please note that it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Morning: Wake up early and cherish the sight of snow-capped hills and sun. We will depart early in the morning from Lachen and you will have breakfast at Thangu Village.

Gurudongmar Lake: The first stop in our journey is the high-altitude Gurudongmar Lake. It is located at an elevation of 5,430 m, making it one of the highest lakes not just in but also in the world. The lake is close to the Chinese border and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks all year long.

Thangu Valley: Next, we will pass by the picturesque Thangu valley covered in alpine vegetation. You will see a criss-cross of streams and rivers, mainly Chopta Chu, Thangu Chu and Lassur Chu.

Bhim Nala Waterfall: We will continue our journey on Lachung road and stop by the cascading Bhim Nala waterfall to take photos. It is amongst the tallest waterfalls in Sikkim with a height of 70 m.

Chungthang Holy Rock: And just near Bhim Nala waterfall, you will witness the Holy Rock of Chungthang. The rock was blessed by Guru Padmasambhava and from its small opening, a continuous flow of water irrigates the paddy field. (even though paddy is difficult to grow at such lower temperatures).

Overnight stay at Lachung Hotel: After journeying through the beautiful attractions, you will arrive at Lachung hotel where you will stay for the night.

On our way back, we will stop by the Lachung hot spring.
