According to a legend, the revered Buddhist saint Guru Padmasambhava travelled to Chungthang and chose a rock to sit on, leaving his imprints there until today.
Chungthang is a small settlement in the North Sikkim area. On the route to Yumthang, the Lachung Chu and Lachen Chu rivers converge in Chungthang Valley. This little hamlet in Sikkim has also received the blessing of Guru Padmasambhava, the well-known patron saint of Sikkim, who holds it in the highest respect as sacrosanct.
