      Day 1: Bagdogra (IXB)/NJP Station to Gangtok (125 km/ 4-5 hours) & Leisure Time

      Arrive at IXB/NJP: Welcome to a remarkable 10-day Sikkim Darjeeling tour with SikkimTourism.org. Our representative will meet you at the airport/train station and escort you to Gangtok. Upon reaching Gangtok, check in your hotel and spend the rest of the day in leisure. 

      You can explore MG Marg, a pedestrian-only zone with zero vehicular traffic. Here you can shop for souvenirs and enjoy Sikkim’s local delicacies.

      Day 2: Explore Gangtok: Sightseeing Tour in Gangtok 

      Morning: Delight yourself with a lovely breakfast and get ready for an all-day sightseeing tour in Gangtok. Our tour representative will pick you up from the hotel. 

      The top tourist attractions in Gangtok are: 

      Ganesh Tok: We will start our tour with a visit to Ganesh tok (temple). This picturesque and serene temple is located on a hill top and offers spectacular views. It also has a cafe that serves visitors refreshments. 

      Tashi Viewpoint: The most popular tourist spot (viewpoint) in Gangtok for watching Mt. Kanchenjunga range. This spot has a viewing platform and telescope to get a better look at the mountains. 

      Namgyal Institute of Tibetan Studies: Learn about Tibetan culture through exhibits and displays in Namgyal Institute’s library, museum and research centre. 

      Enchey Monastery: Built in 1909, this monastery belongs to the Nyingma order of Vajrayana Buddhism. Feel the serenity and peace in a soul-soothing atmosphere.  

      Do Drul Chorten: A large stupa in Gangtok built by Trulshik Rinpoche, teacher of the 14th Dalai Lama. You will see 108 Mani Lhakor or prayer wheels around the stupa. 

      Bakthang Falls: A small natural waterfall gushing down lush green rocks, forming a pool. You can click photos and enjoy a cup of tea near the waterfall. 

      Handicraft Centre: It aims to preserve and promote traditional Sikkimese arts and crafts such as choktse, thangkas, tribal masks, bamboo crafts, and more. 

      Flower Exhibition Centre: Watch a beautiful floral galore at the flower exhibition centre. You will find a variety of orchids, rhododendrons, cacti, and roses among many others. Best time to visit from February to April. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Conclude your tour at MG Marg and return to your hotel for dinner and sleep well.

      Day 3: Gangtok to Lachen (120 km / 6 hours)

      Morning: Begin your day with a nutritious breakfast at the hotel and brace yourself for a 6 hour long road drive from Gangtok to Lachen (in North Sikkim). 

      Towards Lachen: The gorgeous route between Gangtok to Lachen has some incredible spots where we will stop by and take in the scenery. The following attractions will be on our way:  

      Seven Sisters Waterfall: A multi-tiered waterfall, gurgling from steep and rugged cliffs surrounded by lush greenery, a picturesque spot to take photos. 

      Naga Waterfall: Located in Mangan district, Naga waterfall cascades from a height of around 30 meters. Its waters are crystal clear and refreshingly cold, you can take photos with its background.

      Overnight stay in Lachen: Completing our journey, we will reach a location where you will check in at the hotel, have dinner and spend the night.

      Day 4: Lachen – Gurudomnagar Lake – Lachung (130 km/ 7 hours)

      Morning: Wake up and refresh yourself with an eye-pleasing mountainous view in Lachen. Enjoy a warm and fulfilling breakfast and check out from the hotel. Depart for Lachung and on our way we will stop by scenic locations like Thangu Valley.

      Gurudongmar Lake: Visit one of the world’s highest lakes, located at an elevation of 5,430 m. Sit beside the lakes to feel the tranquillity and watch how its water reflects the skies and the surrounding mountains. 

      Overnight stay in Lachung: Post today’s excursion, we will arrive at Lachung hotel where you will check in, have a warm supper, and stay the night.

      Day 5: Lachung – Yumthang Valley – Gangtok (140 km/ 6 hours)

      Morning: Wake up early and have your breakfast on time. Today we will leave for the beautiful valley of flowers in Sikkim, called Yumthang Valley. It’s about a 25 kms drive from Lachung. 

      Yumthang Valley: Also known as valley of flowers, Yumthang is located at an elevation of almost 12,000 feet. A blanket of colourful flowers covers the entire valley of Yumthang. You will see flowers such as rhododendrons, poppies and primulas. Later, we will stop by Lachung hot water spring, known for its healing properties.

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: After six hours of long travel, check in and spend the night at the hotel.  

      Day 6: Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir 

      Morning: Today, you will go on a spectacular excursion from Gangtok to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Make sure to have your breakfast before we pick you up from the hotel. 

      Tsomogo Lake: Perched at 12,313 ft. Tsomogo is a high-altitude glacial lake, and is considered holy by local people. You will find Himalayan birds, yaks and mules grazing around the lake. It’s an incredible place to find solace and calm away from the crowds. 

      Baba Mandir: Visit the shrine and memorial built in honour of soldier Harbhajan Singh of Punjab Regiment. Unravel the folklore surrounding the temple and seek blessing at the holy shrine. 

      MG Marg (Optional): Before going to the hotel, you can explore MG Marg to shop and dine. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Head to the hotel for an overnight stay.

      Day 7: Gangtok – Pelling (108 km / 5 hours)

      Morning: Have breakfast and check out from the Gangtok hotel. Receive a seamless transfer from Gangtok hotel to Pelling.

      Arrive at Hotel: Journeying across the scenic views, valleys, tea plantations, and alpine forests, you will arrive at Pelling hotel. Check in at the hotel and unwind in your room after the long 6 hours of travel. 

      Overnight stay in Pelling: enjoy your stay at the property, have a warm and delicious dinner, and catch some sleep. 

      Day 8: Sightseeing in Pelling 

      Morning: Today we will begin our sightseeing tour in Pelling, so make sure to have breakfast on time and stay ready for the pick up. These are the following attractions we will explore: 

      Kanchenjunga waterfalls: A gushing waterfall cascading from a height of 100 ft., forming a pool. You can enjoy snacks from the nearby stalls. 

      Sewaro Rock Garden: Features fountains, zigzag foot paths, rock formations, and a cafe. 

      Darap Village: A picturesque village with paddy fields, pastures, cottages and promotes sustainable tourism. 

      Pemayangtse Monastery: Pemayangtse Monastery is dedicated to Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche). It features statues, paintings, scrolls, and scriptures of prominent Buddhist figures. 

      Khecheopalri Lake: A sacred lake for Buddhists and Hindus, Khecheopalri is surrounded by lush trees and hundreds of prayer flags. 

      Other Attractions: The other attractions to explore in Pelling are Rimbi waterfalls, and Rabdentse ruins.

      Overnight stay in Pelling: Return to your hotel and stay the night.

      Day 9: Pelling to Darjeeling (70 km/ 4 hours) & Sightseeing 

      Morning: Today after breakfast, we will go to Darjeeling and bid farewell to Sikkim. The road conditions are a little rough, therefore we will depart early and cover our journey in daylight. 

      Hotel Check in: After arrival in Darjeeling we check in at the hotel and after some rest, explore tourist sites of Darjeeling. The top attractions in Darjeeling include:

      Day 10: Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station 

      Visit Tiger Hill: Wake up early and get transferred to Tiger Hill which is at an elevation of 2,590 metres (8,500 ft). Here you will see sunrays falling on mountain peaks and clear views of Mt Kanchejunga and Mt. Everest. 

      Breakfast at hotel: Return to the hotel for breakfast and later check out from the premises. You will get a drop-off to Bagdogra Airport (IXB)/NJP station.

      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required.
