With SikkimTourism.org, the best travel agency in Sikkim, go on exciting Sikkim tours with family and friends. The places below are popular family friendly spots to consider when going for a Sikkim family holiday. The capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok, is a truly delightful town with a quaint and modern vibe. Most Sikkim family tours begin from Gangtok. The town is located at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,410 ft) and is surrounded by thickets of coniferous, birch, and oak trees. Gangtok has many fascinating sites for families including Tashi Viewpoint (which offers Kanchejunga views), Banjhakri Falls, Enchey Monastery, Rumtek Monastery, Gangtok Ropeway and MG Marg. A glacial lake at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft), Tsomgo Lake is one of the sacred lakes in Sikkim. It is surrounded by rugged mountains and alpine forests. During the spring and summer season, the lake gets blanketed by greenery and wildflowers. While in winters, you see snow all around with the lake’s water frozen. Families visiting Lake Tsomgo on their Sikkim trip can enjoy pony and yak rides along the lake. In close proximity to Lake Tsomgo lies Nathu La, one of the highest mountain passes in Sikkim near the Indo-China border. Located at an elevation of 4,310 m (14,140 ft)., Nathula La Pass can only be reached with a valid permit which we arrange with Sikkim family packages. Nathula pass is said to be the historical pass on the ancient Silk road between India and China. Baba Harbhajan Singh temple or Baba Mandir for short is a shrine and a living memorial built for Captain Harbhajan Singh, an Indian Army soldier who died in 1968 while serving near Nathu La. Till this day, the locals believe the spirit of the departed soldier protects the border. The temple is maintained by the Indian Army as the temple serves not just a sight of reverence but also a hallmark of patriotism and being devoted to one’s duty. Lachung is a gorgeous village in North Sikkim brimming with abundant natural beauty, apple orchards, waterfalls and hot springs. The village name means “small pass” and is located at an elevation of 9,600 feet on the confluence of Lahung and Lachen river. It is home to an age-old Lachung monastery established in 1880. From Lachung, families can go on day trips to Thangu village, Chopta Valley and Muguthang. Lachung is one of the most picturesque villages in North Sikkim. Wander in Yumthang Valley (also called Sikkim’s Valley of flowers), one of the most remarkable natural sites of Sikkim with your family and take photos with your loved ones. The valley is encircled by snow capped peaks and during spring season it truly lives up to its name – valley of flowers. The valley blooms with colourful flowers including a variety of rhododendron species, buttercups, pink geraniums and forget-me-not. You will see rolling meadows and yaks and mules grazing lazily on green pastures. Located in South Sikkim, Namchi is a family-friendly tourist spot with a host of attractions that are perfect for family outings. Namchi has religious shrines like Char Dham, Siddheswar Dham, and Ngadak Monastery for spiritual seekers. It also has a Rose Garden where you can see a variety of flowers and a Biodiversity Park, which has all the treasured medicinal plants. Yuksom is a significant cultural and historical site where the coronation of the King took place. Families visiting Yuksom can go on leisurely walks as well as small hikes. Two important sites to see in Yuksom are the Coronation Throne of Norbugang and the ancient Dubdi Monastery. On your Sikkim family tour, watch the incredible view of Himalayan range, Gangtok town and Deorali bazaar with Gangtok Ropeway. The cable car ride is approximately one kilometre long and starts at Deorali Bazar and ends at Tashiling Secretariat. The ropeway is perfect to get a bir’s eye view of the town underneath. Pony rides and Yak rides are among the most popular activities to do in Sikkim for families. In the high elevation areas where traditional transport may not always reach, yaks and ponies serve as transportation. The yaks and ponies are well groomed and ornamented with ribbon and bells. You can try yak rides at Tsomgo Lake (East Sikkim), Lachung, Chopta Valley and Lachen. Tantalise your taste buds with the delightful culinary world of Sikkim. You will find a deep influence of Nepali and Tibetan cuisine of Sikkimese food. You must have tried momo but the hot steaming momo just tastes better here, as well as the spicy thukpa. Other than common staples like Daal Bhaat, Shabhaley, along with fermented foods. To make your Sikkim family trip more memorable, carry home souvenirs from colourful shops in MG Marg. You can shop in Sikkim by exploring thangkas, prayer flags, bamboo & cane products, masks, and local arts and crafts made by Sikkimese artists. Enjoy taking a walk on the glass bridge with your family at Sikkim’s Pelling Sky walk. It is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in Sikkim with your family. The park has a giant statue of Lord Buddha, a museum which displays various phases of Buddha’s life, a meditation hall for monks and tourists as well as a souvenir shop. The park remains open from 9 AM to 5 PM on all days of the week. On your Pelling trip with Sikkim family tour packages, visit the spectacular Kanchenjunga Falls. The lush greenery and gurgling milky white waterfall makes it a perfect place for clicking photos. This waterfall is perennial and its source is believed to be the glacier of Mt Kanchenjunga. If your family is interested in learning about Tibetan culture, visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology in Gangtok. Set on a hilltop, surrounded by colourful flowers and lush trees, NIT is a center for learning and preserving Tibetan culture and Buddhism. It has research centers, classrooms, library and a museum with rare Tibetan artefacts, scripture, scrolls and paintings. The institute is open from 10 AM to 4 PM. You can spend quality time with your family walking across the garden filled with orange trees, cardamom plants and many other flowering plants. The citrusy smell of oranges hanging from the trees permeates throughout the garden. The best time to visit the Rimbi Orange Garden is during harvest season, from November to March The only tea garden in all of Sikkim, the Temi tea garden produces high quality and organic tea which is exported. At times, there is a huge difference between what tour operators offer and what they provide. However, SikkimTourism.org kept its promise to us. They put forth a lot of effort to make my solo trip to Sikkim the finest one ever.
SikkimTourism.org assisted me in planning a Sikkim trip for me and my family and I finally booked a 5 day Sikkim tour package. I spoke with other tour guides and looked through numerous websites. But none could compare to SikkimTourism.org’s degree of professionalism when it comes to arranging Sikkim tours.
Mr. Rohit from SikkimTourism.org phoned me in response to my letter inquiry about Sikkim family package. He is a really helpful dude. I had a lot of concerns for him, such as the weather in Sikkim and if it was OK to bring my 2-year-old, and he patiently responded to all of them.
I wanted a group tour covering East Sikkim and North Sikkim attractions along with Darjeeling. SikkimTourism.org’s 7 nights 8 days Sikkim tour package had everything I needed. Thanks to their team and guides, we could go on an incredible journey to Gangtok, Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, Nathu La, Yumthang Valley, Lachung, and Darjeeling.
The dates of our journey were February 7–15 of this year. The 8 nights 9 days Sikkim tour package itinerary provided by SikkimTourism.org was excellent. Our travel guide was fantastic and guaranteed that our vacation will be memorable, which indeed was.
We need drivers who had a thorough understanding of the roads because Sikkim is situated in a hilly area and has twisty roads. By booking a 6 day Sikkim tour package with SikkimTourism.org, we received amazing services, which helped us feel secure.
I booked an 8 day Sikkim tour package with SikkimTourism.org and eight days were spent travelling smoothly. From day 1 to day 8, the schedule included all travel arrangements, information on the vehicles, accommodations, and meals. The crew, in particular Mr. Rohit, kept in touch with us well.
The accommodation, meals, and transportation arrangements were all well-taken care of with the Sikkim honeymoon package by SikkimTourism.org. What I appreciated most were the safe travel itinerary and the on-time cab drivers. Overall, our trip was enjoyable. Thanks, SikkimTourism.org group.
Excellent lodging, outstanding transportation, and lovely memories to cherish with the 5 days Sikkim tour package. Because of their smooth services, I would heartily suggest SikkimTourism.org for a solo Sikkim trip. I really appreciate it. Bravo to Rohit and the rest of the SikkimTourism.org team.
In April 2019, my family and I travelled to Sikkim and Darjeeling. We reserved our tour with SikkimTourism.org to make travel easier. I must say that the accommodations for travel, the mode of transportation with Sikkim package and how the 6 day Sikkim tour package was planned, were all excellent.

The cost of a Sikkim family package for 5 days can range from 18,000/- to 25,000/-, depending on hotel accommodation and activities covered.
