      Detailed Gangtok Lachung Pelling Tour Itinerary (6 nights/7 days)

      (2 Nights Gangtok – 1 Night Lachung – 1 Night Gangtok – 2 Nights Pelling)

      Day 1: Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Station to Gangtok & Leisure Day

      Arrive at Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Station: Your Sikkim tour package for 7 days takes you on an exciting trip across Gangtok, Lachung and Pelling. Our tour representative will pick you up from Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Station and transfer you to your hotel in Gangtok. 

      Bagdogra airport (IXB) to Gangtok distance: 125 km | Transfer time: 4.5 – 5  hours. 

      NJP station to Gangtok 115 km | Transfer time: 4 hours. 

      Hotel Check-in: Arrive at the hotel and complete your check in process and enjoy a non-alcoholic welcome drink. Refresh yourself in the room and rest well. 

      Leisure Time: The rest of the day is free to enjoy at your leisure. You can go out and explore MG marg. Explore cafes, restaurants (open till 11 pm) and shops (opened till 8 PM) and enjoy some local delicacies. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Post relaxation, return to the hotel and catch a good sleep in your warm and cosy room.

      Day 2: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Tour (Optional Tour: Nathula Pass)

      Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an delightful excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. You will receive a pick up ride at your hotel. Both the points of interest are an integral part of the Sikkim tour.

      Tsomgo Lake: Perched at a height of 12,313 feet above sea level, Tsomgo Lake is a glacial lake surrounded by hills. The lake reflects different colours depending on the season. 

      You can spot Brahminy ducks, Golden eagles, Himalayan monal (Sikkim’s state bird) around the lake. There are also ornamented yaks and mules for tourists to ride. 

      Baba Mandir: Next we head to Baba Madir, a shrine and memorial built for Indian Army soldier Harbhajan Singh. It is perched at a height 13,123 ft. The locals believe the spirit of  the departed soldier still protects and guards the borders and therefore to honour home, devotees offer prayers and seek blessings at the temple. 

      Optional Nathula Pass Tour (with extra charges): You can also add a visit to Nathula Pass, one of the highest passes in Sikkim near the India-China border. 

      Please note:

      Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. 

      You will need a permit (along with valid id proofs) to visit Nathula Pass. The permit processing can take up to 72 hours.  

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: Get transferred back to Gangtok hotel, have a warm and fulfilling supper and stay the night.

      Day 3: Gangtok – Lachung Excursion (117 km in 6.5 to 7 hours)

      Morning: On day 3, we will go on an excursion to Lachung (North Sikkim). After a warm and filling breakfast at the hotel, depart for Lachung. Enjoy a scenic drive from Gangtok to Lachung and witness the beautiful pine forests, apple orchards, waterfalls and viewpoints along the way. 

      Singhik View Point: We will stop by Singhik viewpoint to watch the panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga range and Mt. Siniolchu. Witness the confluence of Rivers Teesta and Kanaka which meet below this viewpoint. 

      Arrive in Lachung: After a 6 – 7 hours of journey, you will arrive at the hotel in Lachung where you will check in and stay for the night. 

      Overnight stay in Lachung 

      Day 4: Lachung – Yumthang Valley (24 kms approx./ 1.5 hours) – Gangtok 

      Morning: Wake up to the sound of birds and a beautiful mountain view. Have breakfast at the hotel and check out. Today, you will visit Yumthang valley also known as the Valley of Flowers. 

      Yumthang Valley: Perched at an elevation of 11,800 ft, Yumthang valley is a floral wonderland and blooms with hundreds of flowers such as primulas, poppies, iris, rhododendrons and more. You will see yaks grazing on green pastures and feel the tranquillity all around. 

      On our way back to Gangtok, we will stop by a hot water spring which is known to have medicinal properties. 

      Bheem Nala Falls and Twin Falls: Next, we will stop by the two waterfalls – Bheem Nala Waterfall and Twin falls. The former is one of the tallest waterfalls in SIkkim,  cascading from a height of 70 metres. (also known as the Amitabh Bachchan falls). Twin falls is an ideal place to admire the scenic nature and do photography. 

      Overnight stay in Gangtok: After 7 to 8 hours of journey, you will arrive in Gangtok. Unwind in your hotel room and get some good night’s sleep.

      Day 5: Gangtok to Pelling (along with Namchi and Ravangla) 

      Morning: Greet the new day in Gangtok and enjoy a nutritious breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will be taking a journey to Pelling and also visit Namchi and Ravangla, so make sure to check out from the hotel on time. 

      Gangtok to Namchi (about 75 km/ 3 hours): Enjoy the views along the way from Gangtok to Namchi. Will will first stop by Char Dham Temple in Namchi which is a replica of the original char dham temple. Next, you will explore Samdruptse Statue, nestled at a hilltop with gorgeous views of the mountains and valleys. 

      Namchi to Ravangla (25.6 km/ 1.5 hours): The main point of attraction in Ravangla is its majestic Buddha park which features a 130-ft statue of the Buddha. It’s a scenic park with small idols of elephants and fountains along the laid pathways. You can enjoy a peaceful stroll on its walking track. 

      Continue to Pelling (45 km/ 3 hours): Travel for about 3 to 3.5 hours and you will reach Pelling, in Sikkim’s Gyalshing district. Check in at the hotel and rest in your hotel room. 

      Overnight stay in Pelling.

      Day 6: Sightseeing in Pelling for Full Day

      Morning: Get ready for another exciting day of sightseeing in Sikkim’s Pelling. Enjoy a healthy breakfast at the hotel and head out to experience the sights and sounds of Pelling. 

      Darap: Take a tour of Darap village which is famous for its village tourism. It is also the go-to spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers. You can explore the village, interact with locals and feel the tranquillity amidst eye-soothing scenery of lush paddy fields and farms. 

      Rimbi Waterfalls: Your next point of interest in Darap village is Rimbi waterfall, a scenic waterfall which cascades and meets the Rimbi river. You will find some food stalls near the river to have a cup of tea and snacks. 

      Kanchenjunga Waterfalls: Next stop is Kanchenjunga falls, and the locals consider its formation to have been caused by the glaciers of Mt. Kanchenjunga. One has to climb a few stairs to get the view of the waterfall. There are tea and snacks stalls around the waterfall from where you can have refreshments. 

      Overnight stay in Pelling: Concluding your tour for the day, return to the hotel and after having a warm dinner, get some good night’s sleep.

      Day 7: Pelling to Bagdogra Airport/NJP station (129 – 138 km/ 5-6 hrs) 

      Morning: Start your day with a nice and healthy breakfast at the hotel and check out from the premises. Our tour representative will pick you up from the hotel and transfer to NJP/Bagdogra airport. 

      Airport/Train Station Drop off: After dropping you at the airport/train station, we will part ways with you and wish you a safe and pleasant return. This concludes your Sikkim tour package for 7 days.

      Documents for Permits in Sikkim  (ILP/PAP) 

      1. Tourists with an Indian citizenship must provide Voter ID or Driving License, or Passport as proof of citizenship along with 2 passport size photos to get a permit. 
      1. For kids, a birth certificate or passport along with 2 passport size photos are required documents to obtain a permit. 
      1. Aadhaar card and PAN card are NOT proof of citizenship and thus will not be considered as valid documents for acquiring a permit. 
      1. Service of a tour guide is mandatory in case of a foreigner travellers who want to visit North Sikkim / Nathula pass & Baba Mandir.
      1. For Foreign travellers must obtain a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for which a valid passport and an Indian visa along with the application form is required. 
      1. Minimum two foreign tourists are required to obtain the required permit for North Sikkim/Nathula pass & Baba Mandir. Single foreign tourists are not allowed to visit restricted areas in Sikkim.
