    Kupup

The town, located at an elevation of 13000 feet, provides breathtaking views of the famed Elephant Lake, which acquired its name from its elephant-like form. Kupup is among the most amazing settlements in the area. It was a well-known journey stop during the silk trade between India and Tibet. If you’re taking the Old Silk Route to Dzuluk or Jelep La Pass, this is a must-see. It is located immediately before the Baba Mandir, another well-known Sikkim holiday attraction.

It’s pointless to try to describe the appeal of the area in words. Kupup is more than magnificent. It is a heaven in and of itself. It is close to the Indo-China border and has always provided nature lovers and adventurers with the much-needed joy of an adventurous visit. If you ever plan a trip along the Old Silk Road, don’t forget to stop by this nature-filled paradise.

The settlement, located at an elevation of 13000 feet, is breathtaking. The lake, known locally as Bitan Choo, is flanked on one side by towering snow-clad mountains and on the other by a difficult to maintain 15-foot-wide road carpeted with new snow on the sides and in between that offers the only path to Kupup via the lake. The Yak Golf Course, which is regarded as the highest golf course in the world, is another attraction in Kupup.

    How to reach Kupup

After reaching Kupup, you can cherish the following destinations:

    • BABA MANDIR

    Best time to visit Kupup

Due to excessive snowfall, the Kupup Lake, Tukla Valley, and Jelep La pass are closed from January until the end of April. May and June are the most beautiful months since the weather is perfect and the entire land is covered with flowers, especially the globally renowned rhododendrons. Storms are not a good time to go trekking here, but summers and harvest season (October – November) are also fantastic and suitable for hikes.

At the same time, you can visit The Yak Golf Course. It is located at 13025 feet above sea level and has been named the World’s Most Amazing Golf Course by the Guinness Book of World Records. Brigadier J M Singh gave the Yak Golf Course its first renovation in 1979 after it opened in 1972. In any event, it was completed as an 18-hole golf course by Brigadier Ranbir Singh and Col. T K Murali. The Yak Golf Course, which has been affiliated with the Indian Golf Union (IGU) since 1985, features fairways that bridge over distinctive alpine streams and lakes.
