The Labrang Monastery has a unique charm exuding from its old-style architectural beauty. It houses a museum that safekeeps precious and ancient statues, murals and language books and is located in the western part of the village. The walls of the museum are painted white, and the roofs of the museum are gilded in a mix of The Tibetan and Indian style of architecture that symbolizes a unique fusion of Indian and Tibetan cultures. Currently, it contains 6 institutes of learning, a gilded stupa, 18 halls, a sutra debate area which contains 60,000 sutras and is one of the largest Buddhist monastic universities. People with interest in ancient artefacts and studying the history of statues and murals would love to have a look around. Labrang Monastery housed several thousand monks in the early 20th century and was a hub of various annual religious festivals and was the seat of a Tibetan power base that struggled to keep up the regional autonomy in the face of the changing alliances and bloodsheds that took place in the years 1700 to 1950. It is also called the Palden Phuntshog Phodrang or Palden Phuntsok Monastery. This monastery was built by Gyalshe Rigzing Chempa in the memory of Latsun Chembo of Kongpu and underwent a major re-construction in 1978.

Rong Lungten Lee is a beautiful museum located in Nam Prik Dang, which occupies a scenic location at the convergence point of mesmerizing Rivers Teesta and Kanaka. An unending calmness and serenity prevails in the whole atmosphere. Rong Lungten Lee is somewhat a replica of a Lepcha Traditional House. It is a well-known destination for the annual Sikkim festival Namsoong. Built in 1983, Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem is a clone representative of The ancient Sirijunga Yuma Margheem of Maryam in West Bengal. Trapped amidst peaceful nature, the building is situated in such a way that it offers a beautiful view of the mighty mountains that are obstructed by white clouds, lush greenery and rivers flowing in full velocity.
Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem was built in the year 1983 and was designed to look similar to the Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem of Martam in West Sikkim. Its beauty arises from the breezy fresh mountain air, fluffy floating clouds wandering past misty and mighty mountain ranges. The vibrant celebration of Maghey Sankranti festival during the month of January every year is a massive crowd puller for this quiet but gorgeous place. It is a famous festival of the Nepalese community, which is celebrated on the first day of the tenth month of every year following the Bikram Sambat calendar. This unique location is close to Rong Lungten Lee at Namprikdang, which is again a beautiful replica of a customary house representing the tradition and culture of the ancient heritage of the Lepcha sect that offers the exhibits of the object from olden times. The building lies sleepy and enchanting in the folds of Himalayas. The tourists can also have glimpses of the cultural lives of the Sikkim people by visiting the scenically gifted Dzongu and Tingchim villages which is just 20 km away from Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem.

Mangan is a dreamy, enchanting, pleasant and unique destination situated in North Sikkim district. It is officially the regional capital of North Sikkim. This quaint hill station is popular for visitors looking for adventure and natural beauty.
The climate in Mangan is temperate and is placed at a lower altitude compared to other places in Sikkim. The summer months are April, May, June and July. The monsoon season starts from July, and the regions get treacherous. Monsoons are to be avoided and in case you are planning to visit Mangan in Winters ensure you pack heavy woollens.
Shared taxis are the most commonly used medium of transport to travel within Mangan and the area around. Bus service in this region is also a fairly available option within the town.

Mangan is located in North Sikkim and is now officially known as Mangan District. It is the seventh in rank of enjoying the status of being the least populous district in the country out of 640.
It is a popular stopover destination for travelers and tourists travelling to Dzongu, Lachen and Lachung from Gangtok. The town was established in 1903 by Rinzing Namgyal, who was a local landlord. The name ‘Mangan’ is derived from the Lepcha word Maangan, which translates to ‘hidden place’.
Mangan in Lepcha dialect means ‘hidden place’ and is truly a pristine and hidden jewel of North Sikkim.
The people of the district of North Sikkim reside near Mangan, which is the district headquarters located at about 2,000 feet or 610 m above sea level.
Mangan being the district headquarter of North Sikkim you can easily get the permits readied at Mangan District Administrative Centre. Alternatively, the permit can be arranged in advance by the hotel you choose or by the travel and tour operator in case you are availing one.
An annual three-day music festival is held at Mangan in North Sikkim from December 12 to 14. Local artists and bands from the region as well as from the other Northeast states perform in front of the huge gathering and compete for the main prize.
Bagdogra is the closest airport to Mangan as any other place in Sikkim.
Bagdogra Airport is connected to Gangtok and one can hire a private taxi or cab Gangtok and then travel further by local bus or shared jeep service or taxi to reach Mangan.
