    Rumtek monastery

    Located atop a hill overlooking Gangtok, Rumtek Monastery is a significant and expansive monastery that has become one of the largest in Sikkim.     Yumthang valley

It features a river, hot springs, yaks, and grazing pastures on Rolling Meadows. The valley is home to the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, which has over twenty-four species of rhododendron, the state flower. The valley is known as the ‘Valley of Flowers’ due to the countless flowers that bloom there from late February to mid-June, carpeting the valley in a rainbow of colours. Yumthang is closed between December and March due to heavy snowfall, and it is located 150 kilometres (93 miles) from the state capital Gangtok.
